Highlights from the 2nd Sebou Living Lab: Advancing Water Governance through Collaborative Knowledge, Morocco - April 25, 2025

On April 25, 2025, the second Sebou Living Lab was held online as part of the OurMED project. The event brought together teams from Living Planet Morocco (LPM) and Tour du Valat (TdV), along with water managers and experts from the Sebou Hydraulic Basin Agency (ABHS).

Building on the first Living Lab held in Fez on May 10, 2024, this session aimed to bridge scientific expertise and local knowledge to support integrated governance of freshwater and wetland ecosystems in the Sebou Basin.

Key highlights included:

  • Presentation of the DPSIR (Drivers–Pressures–State–Impacts–Responses) analysis results addressing water governance challenges and wetland ecosystem dynamics in the Sebou Basin;

  • A collective discussion on relevant Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to enhance wetland resilience;

  • A demonstration of digital tools such as the Sebou Geoportal and the interactive Storymap to support data-sharing and decision-making.

This initiative is part of OurMED’s broader mission to co-develop sustainable water storage and distribution solutions across the Sebou Demo Site and the Mediterranean region, using participatory, multi-stakeholder approaches.
