Living Lab Workshop in the Medjerda River Basin – Towards Shared Water Governance

On April 16, 2025, the OurMED project hosted the second workshop of the Living Lab in the Medjerda River Basin at the Tunis Grand Hôtel, as part of its ongoing work on water and ecosystems governance and socioeconomic assessment.

The day began with participant registration and a welcome speech, followed by a presentation by Ms. Imen Souissi on the outcomes of the first workshop. After a friendly coffee break, participants joined thematic working groups to co-develop impact pathways and propose tangible solutions to key local challenges.

The discussions were structured around four main themes, led by field experts:

  • Water governance

  • Access to water

  • Water quality

  • Soil and water conservation

These interactive sessions enabled the identification of actionable and locally adapted responses. The morning concluded with a collective debrief, a short evaluation of the workshop, and a networking lunch that fostered further exchange among stakeholders.

This event highlights OurMED’s commitment to a participatory approach that promotes collective intelligence and supports sustainable water resource management in the region.
