Women, Water, and Territorial Development: A Focus Group for Sustainable Future in the framework of OurMED project

This focus group, coordinated by Professor Romina Deriu, aims to foster dialogue and critical exchange among women from the local community who are actively engaged in issues related to sustainable development, protection of natural resources, and social and economic innovation.

The discussion will focus on territorial development, exploring both its constraints and opportunities, as well as on natural resources, with a particular emphasis on water as a key driver of shared, long-term well-being. Through collective reflection and the exchange of experiences, the focus group seeks to highlight local perspectives and promote inclusive approaches to sustainability.

The focus group is promoted by the Desertification Research Unit (NRD) of the University of Sassari, within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean PRIMA–OurMED project. The OurMED project addresses challenges related to sustainable water management through interdisciplinary and participatory action-research practices, encouraging stakeholder involvement and knowledge co-creation at the territorial level.
