Summer School on Environmental Conflict Mediation

The OurMED Summer School on “Participatory Processes and Environmental Conflict Mediation in Social-Ecological Systems” will take place in Oristano, Sardinia (Italy), from September 23 to 25, 2025. This immersive three-day programme will bring together researchers, practitioners, and project partners to explore participatory methods for addressing environmental conflicts and fostering sustainable governance of natural resources.
Organized by the University of Sassari – Desertification Research Center (NRD), this event offers an engaging mix of field visits, keynote talks, and interactive group activities designed to deepen understanding of environmental risks, power dynamics, and tools for dialogue and negotiation.
Programme Highlights:
September 23, 2025: Field visit and stakeholder engagement focused on perceptions of environmental risks and the roots of conflict.
September 24, 2025: Thematic sessions on governance and participatory research practices within complex social-ecological systems.
September 25, 2025: Practical workshops on tools for dialogue, negotiation, and collaborative mediation.
The Summer School is open to a maximum of 30 participants, including OurMED and NG4M network members, as well as external researchers and professionals. A participation fee of €150 applies for those not affiliated with the project. All participants will receive an official certificate of completion.
